Frank The Plucker is a play detailing the events of Frank, a plucker at a local chicken factory. The team of pluckers Frank works with tend to arrive to work hung over and others would rather talk than work. This would be fine if there was little work to do however the C.H.O.O.C.C.A (Certificate Honouring the Overall Outstanding Chicken Company of Australia) inspectors are coming to assess the factory and the Boss wants to imrpove the factories ratings and be 'the best'.

 

When it is discovered that the pluckers aren't working as hard as they could (or at all) the Boss decides that the best descision is to fire the pluckers and replace them with much more efficient machines. The pluckers may have made the wrong decision about which life was more important (social or working) but did the Boss make the right choice in firing them?

 

If losing his job isn't bad enough Frank also has to deal with his love interest with the factories receptionist Jill (who doesn't like Frank one bit and has some interesting ways of showing it) and his fellow plucker Sandra who has been madly in love with Frank since she first met him, although Frank has never noticed.

 

Will Frank end up with the girl of his dreams by the end of the night will he even end up in love at all?

 

All these questions will be answered in Frank The Plucker, the theatrical eggs-travaganza of 2006!

 

Based on a short play by Sean Bryan, the latest re-made, super duper, special edition, eggs-alent version of Frank The Plucker is set to take the world by storm! With hilarious characters and a witty sense of humor Frank The Plucker is a play for the whole family to enjoy whether you have experience plucking chickens or not!

Frank The Plucker- the Theatrical Eggs-travaganza of 2006- closed after four fantastic shows on October 13 2006 to excellent reviews. The show was described by one audience member as 'A breath of fresh air for the theatre industry' and many comments were made about the show going public. The final performance featured a 20 minute interval which was different to the other three shows which only had a five minute interval for set changes. The original song 'Finger Licking Chicken' went down a treat and Manager Sam's 'Techno Chicken Dance' almost got a standing ovation. Laughs could be heard throughout the show and enthusiastic applause could be heard at the end of every scene. The climax of the show of course was the standing ovation received from the audience...even though we did make them do the chicken dance!

 

Frank the Plucker opened to an average audience of year nine students at Flinders Christian Community College but despite the constant talking the show ran incredibly well with the cast and crew agreeing that the opening show was a success.
